The Yankees seem to be getting their poise back as the A's are having a fire
sale and giving arms away for young talent. This game is a pass for me because I
like Oakland and think if they have a chance to win it's today but I don't want
to bankon a team to win that has dropped 4 straight. The over is a possibility
to with the wind blowing and the way these teams can hit but overall a pass for
me.

The rubber match of a good series comes to an end today and the Phillies will
have the better pitcher on the hill with Hamels as he faces against Johnson. As
much as I hate backing chalk here I like the fighting Phillies. Hamels has
looked great in his last three starts and has an amazing BB/K ratio of 3/23 in
those starts and an ERA of just 1.99. He is 4-1 on the road this year and the
fish have some big troubles against lefties. They hit just .225 against
southpaws and will be in trouble today. Phi is 32-21 vs. division Hate this kind
of chalk but have to do it. I like the under too with the high temps, two decent
pitchers and the wind blowing in.

Mets @ Cincy

The Mets have stumbled coming out of the break after zooming into it on a big
winning streak. This is a pass for me too, Pelfrey has pitched well enough to
warrant a play here but Volquez has looked very sharp as well.

Washington @ Braves

I am taking the Nationals in this one. Why not they are hitting Braves
pitching putting up 14 runs in the last two games and are playing hard in this
road set coming out of the break. Reyes is 0-3 in his last three starts and the
braves are just 11-16 in the third game of a series. Washington

Detroit @ Baltimore

The dogs don't stop there as I am taking the home town O's to get the win and
take the series against Detroit. The prooblem is I am going against the Tigers
and they have been one of the better teams against lefties this year, but I have
more going for the O's. They are hitting great and are at home. This is more a
fade against the Tiger bullpen as well.
